Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Machinery and Paper & Pulp sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.37% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aero Win Technology Corp (TW:8222), which rose 9.97% or 1.90 points to trade at 20.95 at the close. Unitech Printed Circuit Board Corp (TW:2367) added 9.92% or 1.80 points to end at 19.95 and Tatung Co (TW:2371) was up 9.78% or 1.55 points to 17.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included General Interface Solution GIS Holding Ltd (TW:6456), which lost 9.87% or 22.50 points to trade at 205.50 in late trade. Rexon Industrial Corp Ltd (TW:1515) declined 8.78% or 4.90 points to end at 50.90 and Foxsemicon Integrated Technology Inc (TW:3413) shed 8.12% or 16.00 points to 181.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 503 to 253 and 119 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $55.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.13% or 0.08 to hit $61.30 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.53% or 6.70 to trade at $1259.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.12% to 30.042, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2198.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.65.
