Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Textile and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Basso Industry Corp (TW:1527), which rose 10.00% or 4.30 points to trade at 47.30 at the close. TYC Brother Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1522) added 10.00% or 2.30 points to end at 25.30 and Yu Foong International Corp (TW:1438) was up 9.99% or 0.670 points to 7.380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452), which lost 10.00% or 15.00 points to trade at 135.00 in late trade. Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:3519) declined 10.00% or 1.04 points to end at 9.36 and Micro-Star International Co Ltd (TW:2377) shed 8.29% or 5.80 points to 64.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 495 to 304 and 107 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.92% or 0.52 to $56.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.10% or 0.73 to hit $67.35 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1215.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.26% to 30.884, while TWD/CNY rose 0.13% to 0.2254.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 96.82.
