Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Oil, Gas & Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Teapo Electronic Corp (TW:2375), which rose 9.87% or 3.55 points to trade at 39.50 at the close. Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) added 9.72% or 1.05 points to end at 11.85 and Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424) was up 9.23% or 2.40 points to 28.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Taiwan Paiho Ltd (TW:9938), which lost 7.07% or 3.50 points to trade at 46.00 in late trade. Nanya Technology Corp (TW:2408) declined 5.42% or 3.10 points to end at 54.10 and Silergy Corp (TW:6415) shed 5.29% or 24.00 points to 430.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 511 to 299 and 101 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.17% or 0.12 to $71.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.07% or 0.06 to hit $80.72 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1230.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.08% to 30.864, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 94.78.
