Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Glass and Hotels sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gold Circuit Electronics Ltd (TW:2368), which rose 10.00% or 1.25 points to trade at 13.75 at the close. Sino Horizon Holdings Ltd (TW:2923) added 10.00% or 1.80 points to end at 19.80 and Jentech Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3653) was up 10.00% or 6.80 points to 74.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Patec Precision Industry Co Ltd (TW:2236), which lost 4.26% or 1.40 points to trade at 31.45 in late trade. TPK Holding Co Ltd (TW:3673) declined 4.17% or 2.15 points to end at 49.35 and Airtac International Group (TW:1590) shed 3.77% or 12.50 points to 319.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 730 to 120 and 58 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.05% or 0.54 to $50.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.10% or 0.66 to hit $59.40 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1244.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.01% to 30.846, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2234.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 96.835.
