Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Services, Electronic Parts/Components and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.30% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Microtek International Inc (TW:2305), which rose 10.00% or 0.81 points to trade at 8.91 at the close. Epileds Technologies Inc (TW:4956) added 9.98% or 2.30 points to end at 25.35 and Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) was up 9.98% or 2.20 points to 24.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yoko International Corp (TW:6131), which lost 4.53% or 1.10 points to trade at 23.20 in late trade. SDI Corp (TW:2351) declined 4.08% or 3.80 points to end at 89.30 and Optimax Technology Corp (TW:3051) shed 4.05% or 0.25 points to 5.93.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 438 to 333 and 107 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.12% or 0.07 to $57.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $63.26 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.94 to trade at $1290.26 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.07% to 29.977, while TWD/CNY fell 0.14% to 0.2215.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 93.12.
