Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gas Natural (MC:GAS), which rose 1.63% or 0.360 points to trade at 22.510 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 0.92% or 0.250 points to end at 27.480 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) was up 0.73% or 0.026 points to 3.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Acciona (MC:ANA), which lost 5.44% or 4.040 points to trade at 70.200 in late trade. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) declined 2.98% or 0.350 points to end at 11.395 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) shed 2.66% or 0.59 points to 21.62.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 66 and 14 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.37% or 4.60 to $1251.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.93% or 0.68 to hit $73.44 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.11 to trade at $77.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1579, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8846.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.91.
