Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS), which rose 1.48% or 0.530 points to trade at 36.390 at the close. Repsol (MC:REP) added 1.19% or 0.200 points to end at 16.950 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 0.54% or 0.007 points to 1.390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which lost 3.26% or 0.865 points to trade at 25.670 in late trade. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 2.01% or 0.043 points to end at 2.096 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) shed 1.70% or 0.440 points to 25.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 123 to 55 and 25 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.90% or 11.10 to $1216.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.25% or 0.17 to hit $67.92 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.55% or 0.40 to trade at $72.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1607, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8936.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 95.24.
