Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bankia SA (MC:BKIA), which rose 2.27% or 0.070 points to trade at 3.153 at the close. Bankinter (MC:BKT) added 0.98% or 0.082 points to end at 8.466 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) was up 0.92% or 0.055 points to 6.026 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indra A (MC:IDR), which lost 2.58% or 0.250 points to trade at 9.425 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) declined 1.30% or 0.100 points to end at 7.580 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) shed 1.25% or 0.086 points to 6.818.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 83 and 27 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.69% or 8.50 to $1222.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.63% or 0.43 to hit $67.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.24 to trade at $72.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1694, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8929.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.42.
