Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which rose 2.77% or 29.30 points to trade at 1087.50 at the close. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) added 2.03% or 0.0800 points to end at 4.0300 and NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) was up 1.89% or 3.04 points to 164.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which lost 4.63% or 26.2 points to trade at 540.2 in late trade. NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) declined 4.29% or 19.90 points to end at 443.60 and Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) shed 3.30% or 169.5 points to 4959.5.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 115 to 98 and 17 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 2.32% to 30.870.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 2.60 to $1203.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 4.44% or 2.66 to hit $57.27 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 4.41% or 3.09 to trade at $67.03 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.05% to 67.8772, while EUR/RUB rose 0.45% to 76.5696.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 96.99.
