Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 4.83% or 19.30 points to trade at 419.00 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 4.47% or 4.20 points to end at 98.25 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was up 4.24% or 3.53 points to 86.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which lost 3.59% or 23.0 points to trade at 617.0 in late trade. NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) declined 3.37% or 36.00 points to end at 1031.50 and Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) shed 2.40% or 101.0 points to 4099.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 102 to 93 and 26 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.63% to 30.320.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.61% or 7.50 to $1225.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.10% or 0.74 to hit $66.30 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.63% or 1.26 to trade at $76.08 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.37% to 65.6034, while EUR/RUB fell 0.52% to 74.5600.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 96.62.
