Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 2.23% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.1830 at the close. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) added 1.91% or 1.750 points to end at 93.250 and Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) was up 1.67% or 0.545 points to 33.145 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which lost 2.37% or 13.5 points to trade at 557.0 in late trade. United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) declined 2.05% or 0.510 points to end at 24.390 and NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) shed 2.04% or 7.95 points to 381.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 88 and 25 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.16% to 21.780.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.08% or 1.00 to $1290.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.24% or 0.17 to hit $71.66 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.83% or 0.66 to trade at $79.94 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.50% to 62.0311, while EUR/RUB rose 0.44% to 73.2025.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.31.
