Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM), which rose 3.03% or 2.03 points to trade at 69.00 at the close. Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY) added 2.50% or 2.50 points to end at 102.40 and MTS (MCX:MTSS) was up 2.18% or 6.25 points to 292.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which lost 5.28% or 0.0590 points to trade at 1.0590 in late trade. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 2.64% or 5.15 points to end at 190.00 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) shed 2.38% or 21.70 points to 891.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 150 to 75 and 18 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.45% to 20.080.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.17 to $1310.97 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.93% or 0.47 to hit $49.88 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.49 to trade at $54.99 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.41% to 58.3600, while EUR/RUB rose 0.51% to 69.8470.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 91.79.
