Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Power, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE), which rose 4.43% or 138.5 points to trade at 3264.0 at the close. MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) added 3.19% or 18.00 points to end at 583.00 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was up 3.02% or 0.0283 points to 0.9650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which lost 2.88% or 4700 points to trade at 158300 in late trade. AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) declined 2.14% or 0.425 points to end at 19.430 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) shed 1.19% or 1.41 points to 117.39.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 127 to 97 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 1.22% to 23.210 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.14% or 1.75 to $1271.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.19% or 0.59 to hit $49.13 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.13% or 0.57 to trade at $49.90 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.24% to 62.8679, while EUR/RUB rose 0.68% to 68.804.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 98.64.
