Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 5.06% or 4.90 points to trade at 101.78 at the close. Unipro (MCX:UPRO) added 4.25% or 0.1150 points to end at 2.8200 and NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) was up 3.69% or 15.8 points to 444.4 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which lost 1.35% or 0.0540 points to trade at 3.9445 in late trade. Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) declined 0.74% or 4.60 points to end at 619.40 and NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) shed 0.70% or 1.12 points to 157.94.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 92 and 25 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.26% to 25.760.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.20 to $1233.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.77% or 0.49 to hit $63.20 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.11 to trade at $72.78 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.70% to 66.1857, while EUR/RUB rose 0.51% to 75.3421.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 96.32.
