Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which rose 3.12% or 5.00 points to trade at 165.20 at the close. PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) added 2.47% or 61.0 points to end at 2531.0 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was up 2.24% or 11.30 points to 516.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON), which lost 5.35% or 33.70 points to trade at 596.50 in late trade. X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) declined 3.04% or 48.0 points to end at 1532.0 and NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) shed 2.18% or 13.4 points to 601.2.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 93 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 3.50% to 26.310.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.16% or 1.90 to $1214.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.71% or 0.49 to hit $68.38 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.25 to trade at $76.25 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.48% to 67.8484, while EUR/RUB rose 0.78% to 79.4613.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 94.50.
