Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.10% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 4.87% or 0.4740 points to trade at 10.2150 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 4.40% or 0.1980 points to end at 4.7000 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 4.16% or 0.0990 points to 2.4790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which fell 6.90% or 0.0002 points to trade at 0.0027 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 2.25% or 0.0090 points to end at 0.3910 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 2.00% or 0.0011 points to 0.0538.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 27 to 24.
Shares in Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) rose to 5-year highs; up 4.40% or 0.1980 to 4.7000.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.39% or 1.17 to $49.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.60% or 1.20 to hit $47.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.56% or 17.70 to trade at $1118.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.0961, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.7109.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 97.30.
