Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Financial Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which rose 3.08% or 2.100 points to trade at 70.420 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 2.09% or 0.740 points to end at 36.000 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 1.84% or 3.340 points to 185.490 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which fell 2.95% or 0.670 points to trade at 22.000 at the close. Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) declined 2.88% or 1.710 points to end at 57.760 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was down 2.32% or 0.88 points to 37.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 97 to 61 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.53% or 5.80 to $1087.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.81% or 0.40 to hit $48.40 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $53.29 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.21% to 16.2599, while EUR/MXN fell 0.62% to 17.7805.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 97.61.
