Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Healthcare and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.54% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 4.60% or 1.120 points to trade at 25.550 at the close. Meanwhile, Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) added 4.34% or 2.230 points to end at 53.780 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 4.24% or 0.670 points to 16.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which fell 2.39% or 6.180 points to trade at 253.100 at the close. Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC) declined 2.01% or 0.980 points to end at 47.760 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was down 0.91% or 3.260 points to 353.470.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 108 to 40 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) rose to all time highs; rising 4.34% or 2.230 to 53.780.
Gold for August delivery was down 3.13% or 35.40 to $1096.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.88% or 0.96 to hit $50.24 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.06% or 0.60 to trade at $56.49 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.60% to 16.0187, while EUR/MXN rose 0.54% to 17.3427.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 98.18.
