Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.35% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 1.69% or 0.710 points to trade at 42.760 at the close. La Comercial (MX:LCMRUBC) added 0.39% or 0.07 points to end at 17.84 and Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) was up 0.34% or 0.860 points to 254.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 5.60% or 0.630 points to trade at 10.610 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 3.91% or 1.210 points to end at 29.700 and Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) shed 2.20% or 0.070 points to 3.110.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 64 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.56% or 7.40 to $1329.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.97% or 0.94 to hit $46.70 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 0.86 to trade at $48.18 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.38% to 19.1918, while EUR/MXN rose 0.44% to 21.1388.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.00% at 96.59.
