Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Healthcare and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which rose 3.36% or 0.68 points to trade at 20.92 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) added 2.61% or 4.890 points to end at 192.460 and Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) was up 2.42% or 6.280 points to 265.480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which lost 3.86% or 4.240 points to trade at 105.500 in late trade. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 2.49% or 1.250 points to end at 48.990 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) shed 2.26% or 2.410 points to 104.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 100 to 87 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.23% or 3.15 to $1353.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.69% or 0.32 to hit $46.90 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.22% or 0.60 to trade at $49.83 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.51% to 18.1496, while EUR/MXN rose 0.57% to 20.4865.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 94.71.
