Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.18% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA), which rose 3.27% or 1.830 points to trade at 57.800 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 2.94% or 9.54 points to end at 333.81 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 2.92% or 4.25 points to 150.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which lost 5.15% or 1.01 points to trade at 18.60 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) declined 4.25% or 15.15 points to end at 341.48 and BanRegio Grupo Financiero SAB de CV (MX:RA) shed 3.93% or 4.43 points to 108.15.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 233 to 85 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.00% or 12.20 to $1233.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 4.21% or 2.91 to hit $66.26 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.38% or 3.50 to trade at $76.33 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.59% to 19.2934, while EUR/MXN fell 0.50% to 22.1365.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 95.69.
