Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB), which rose 1.70% or 0.470 points to trade at 28.190 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 1.58% or 1.560 points to end at 100.600 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was up 1.29% or 0.900 points to 70.460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 3.98% or 15.61 points to trade at 376.93 in late trade. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) declined 3.83% or 4.78 points to end at 120.00 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) shed 3.65% or 2.270 points to 59.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 166 to 136 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.12% or 1.60 to $1305.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.61% or 0.41 to hit $67.66 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.07 to trade at $73.06 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.74% to 19.0954, while EUR/MXN rose 0.33% to 22.8083.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 92.62.
