Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 1.93% or 0.38 points to trade at 20.07 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 1.55% or 0.800 points to end at 52.400 and Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) was up 1.22% or 1.36 points to 113.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which lost 4.48% or 3.33 points to trade at 70.92 in late trade. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) declined 3.04% or 2.000 points to end at 63.780 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) shed 2.82% or 0.640 points to 22.020.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 213 to 110 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.42% or 5.30 to $1269.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.18% or 0.12 to hit $65.83 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.14% or 1.60 to trade at $73.14 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.22% to 20.3147, while EUR/MXN rose 0.05% to 23.5783.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 94.51.
