Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Consumer Goods & Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 1.41% or 1.52 points to trade at 109.13 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 1.13% or 1.240 points to end at 110.660 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 0.99% or 0.340 points to 34.760 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which lost 3.41% or 1.650 points to trade at 46.670 in late trade. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) declined 2.62% or 0.41 points to end at 15.25 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) shed 1.77% or 1.70 points to 94.47.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 142 to 118 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.51% or 6.80 to $1313.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.79% or 1.72 to hit $63.45 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.08 to trade at $69.25 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.00% to 19.2401, while EUR/MXN rose 0.00% to 22.9662.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 92.23.
