Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 3.30% or 0.490 points to trade at 15.350 at the close. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) added 1.05% or 0.380 points to end at 36.660 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) was up 0.95% or 0.250 points to 26.530 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which lost 3.41% or 0.72 points to trade at 20.39 in late trade. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) declined 2.43% or 0.26 points to end at 10.43 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) shed 2.36% or 8.17 points to 338.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 172 to 132 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.28% or 3.60 to $1300.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.90% or 0.58 to hit $65.33 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.32 to trade at $74.97 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.86% to 20.4445, while EUR/MXN rose 2.04% to 23.9611.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 93.87.
