Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.28%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Becle SA (MX:CUERVO), which rose 3.81% or 0.890 points to trade at 24.270 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) added 2.35% or 0.620 points to end at 27.020 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) was up 1.37% or 1.220 points to 90.230 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 3.56% or 0.370 points to trade at 10.020 in late trade. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) declined 3.52% or 2.77 points to end at 76.00 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) shed 2.55% or 2.850 points to 108.980.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 151 to 123 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.11% or 1.35 to $1282.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.06% or 0.56 to hit $52.45 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.94% or 0.58 to trade at $60.92 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.68% to 19.0388, while EUR/MXN fell 0.48% to 21.6663.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 95.790.
