Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Materials, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which rose 2.01% or 2.36 points to trade at 119.92 at the close. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 1.51% or 3.06 points to end at 205.50 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 1.42% or 1.790 points to 127.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 1.71% or 5.54 points to trade at 319.20 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) declined 1.42% or 1.860 points to end at 129.000 and BanRegio Grupo Financiero SAB de CV (MX:RA) shed 1.41% or 1.65 points to 115.66.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 78 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 2.60 to $1207.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.49% or 0.34 to hit $70.11 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.46% or 0.36 to trade at $78.00 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.56% to 19.1938, while EUR/MXN rose 0.71% to 22.2984.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 95.07.
