Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Industrials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which rose 1.65% or 1.740 points to trade at 107.450 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) added 1.61% or 0.230 points to end at 14.490 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was up 1.53% or 0.21 points to 13.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which lost 2.54% or 1.230 points to trade at 47.110 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 2.26% or 0.780 points to end at 33.730 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) shed 2.21% or 0.510 points to 22.590.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 162 to 135 and 17 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.39% or 4.90 to $1269.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.85% or 0.49 to hit $58.05 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $64.52 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.06% to 19.2271, while EUR/MXN fell 0.03% to 22.8274.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 92.94.
