Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Healthcare and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO), which rose 6.36% or 5.140 points to trade at 86.000 at the close. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) added 4.56% or 2.92 points to end at 67.02 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 2.15% or 0.500 points to 23.770 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Becle SA (MX:CUERVO), which lost 6.33% or 2.160 points to trade at 31.970 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 4.03% or 0.490 points to end at 11.670 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) shed 3.17% or 0.900 points to 27.450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 139 to 116 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.51% or 6.70 to $1324.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.23% or 0.16 to hit $68.03 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.29 to trade at $74.45 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.02% to 18.6212, while EUR/MXN fell 0.80% to 22.5886.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 91.32.
