Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Financial Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 1.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which rose 4.40% or 2.130 points to trade at 50.570 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 4.00% or 1.20 points to end at 31.21 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was up 3.77% or 3.250 points to 89.430 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 5.65% or 1.54 points to trade at 25.72 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 0.89% or 0.250 points to end at 27.960 and Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) shed 0.79% or 2.230 points to 279.940.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 149 to 122 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.19% or 2.35 to $1236.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.87% or 0.47 to hit $54.25 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $56.61 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.05% to 20.0185, while EUR/MXN rose 0.05% to 21.0930.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 101.45.
