Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.55% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 2.90% or 0.350 points to trade at 12.400 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 2.96% or 0.900 points to end at 31.350 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 2.75% or 1.12 points to 41.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 3.60% or 0.770 points to trade at 20.590 in late trade. Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) declined 1.60% or 0.180 points to end at 11.080 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) shed 0.85% or 0.65 points to 75.86.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 63 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 1.68% or 22.75 to $1333.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.78% or 1.69 to hit $46.45 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 3.98% or 1.84 to trade at $48.09 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.65% to 18.3480, while EUR/MXN fell 0.61% to 20.2975.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 96.54.
