Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 6.91% or 28.320 points to trade at 437.940 at the close. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) added 5.81% or 2.800 points to end at 51.030 and Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) was up 3.26% or 8.670 points to 274.410 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 2.68% or 0.570 points to trade at 20.680 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 2.54% or 0.920 points to end at 35.370 and America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) shed 1.68% or 0.230 points to 13.480.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 190 to 102 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 1.34% or 15.65 to $1180.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.98% or 0.52 to hit $53.78 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $56.92 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.06% to 21.4372, while EUR/MXN rose 0.05% to 22.7325.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.07% at 101.39.
