Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 4.39% or 32.86 points to trade at 780.94 at the close. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 2.43% or 2.60 points to end at 109.39 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB) was up 2.38% or 4.61 points to 198.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which lost 2.21% or 0.710 points to trade at 31.450 in late trade. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) declined 1.51% or 1.44 points to end at 94.00 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) shed 1.07% or 0.520 points to 48.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 146 to 129 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.46% or 5.78 to $1251.58 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.49% or 0.21 to hit $42.74 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.41 to trade at $45.23 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.72% to 18.1074, while EUR/MXN fell 0.85% to 20.1965.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 97.24.
