Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA), which rose 3.63% or 2.310 points to trade at 65.890 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 2.89% or 3.160 points to end at 112.490 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 2.64% or 0.730 points to 28.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Becle SA (MX:CUERVO), which lost 2.75% or 0.820 points to trade at 29.000 in late trade. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) declined 1.81% or 0.950 points to end at 51.550 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) shed 1.69% or 1.400 points to 81.200.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 168 to 162 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.65% or 8.30 to $1270.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.79% or 0.51 to hit $65.41 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.19% or 0.89 to trade at $74.19 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.79% to 20.3631, while EUR/MXN fell 0.85% to 23.5877.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 94.74.
