Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Goods & Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 8.60% or 1.82 points to trade at 22.98 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 4.04% or 1.100 points to end at 28.300 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 3.44% or 12.07 points to 362.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB), which lost 2.63% or 4.77 points to trade at 176.73 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 1.82% or 0.260 points to end at 14.040 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) shed 1.19% or 1.350 points to 112.040.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 193 to 117 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1290.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.35% or 0.25 to hit $71.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.82 to trade at $79.25 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.51% to 19.5949, while EUR/MXN fell 0.76% to 23.1355.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 93.25.
