Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.29% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 4.82% or 1.250 points to trade at 27.190 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 2.79% or 2.710 points to end at 99.850 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) was up 1.47% or 1.66 points to 114.21 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which lost 3.26% or 1.630 points to trade at 48.340 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) declined 2.51% or 2.650 points to end at 102.910 and GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT) shed 2.16% or 0.590 points to 26.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 165 to 105 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.65% or 8.40 to $1294.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 4.80% or 2.39 to hit $52.17 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 4.36% or 2.56 to trade at $61.28 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.74% to 19.2150, while EUR/MXN rose 0.18% to 22.1846.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.79% at 94.725.
