Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Telecoms Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which rose 1.62% or 1.48 points to trade at 92.60 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 1.61% or 2.090 points to end at 131.990 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) was up 1.57% or 1.09 points to 70.47 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 2.06% or 0.350 points to trade at 16.660 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 1.79% or 0.440 points to end at 24.100 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) shed 1.78% or 0.540 points to 29.740.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 147 to 132 and 17 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 1.90 to $1203.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.13% or 1.51 to hit $72.29 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.20% or 2.50 to trade at $80.74 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.72% to 18.9596, while EUR/MXN rose 0.67% to 22.2755.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.84.
