Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO), which rose 4.43% or 3.340 points to trade at 78.660 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) added 4.23% or 14.19 points to end at 349.43 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was up 4.07% or 7.42 points to 189.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 4.66% or 19.99 points to trade at 408.91 in late trade. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) declined 3.86% or 3.19 points to end at 79.44 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) shed 2.59% or 0.51 points to 19.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 117 to 113 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.53% or 6.72 to $1271.38 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.18% or 1.19 to hit $55.73 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.52% or 1.53 to trade at $62.15 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.17% to 19.2052, while EUR/MXN rose 0.74% to 22.2960.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 94.83.
