Investing.com – India equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the IT, Technology and Capital Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.06%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Infosys Ltd (NS:INFY), which rose 2.58% or 24.95 points to trade at 991.25 at the close. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS:SUN) added 1.77% or 9.50 points to end at 544.75 and Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI) was up 1.75% or 16.25 points to 947.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY), which lost 2.30% or 54.40 points to trade at 2306.25 in late trade. Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:APSE) declined 1.93% or 8.00 points to end at 407.10 and Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF) shed 1.61% or 18.95 points to 1159.65.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which rose 2.60% to 991.40, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was up 1.78% to settle at 544.75 and Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which gained 1.60% to close at 945.15.
The worst performers were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which was down 2.10% to 2311.65 in late trade, Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (BO:APSE) which lost 1.65% to settle at 407.45 and Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) which was down 1.52% to 3261.85 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 870 to 718 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1421 rose and 1223 declined, while 147 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.23% to 13.8650.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.26 to $1291.94 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.14% or 0.08 to hit $57.94 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.26 to trade at $63.06 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.08% to 64.696, while EUR/INR fell 0.11% to 76.6125.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 93.08.
