Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Transportation & Logistics and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Basic Resources, Food & Beverages and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.18% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index declined 0.24%, and the TecDAX index added 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG), which rose 2.13% or 2.30 points to trade at 110.30 at the close. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) added 1.20% or 0.200 points to end at 16.810 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was up 1.13% or 0.39 points to 34.47 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING), which lost 2.30% or 4.00 points to trade at 170.00 in late trade. Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) declined 2.04% or 0.196 points to end at 9.404 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) shed 1.49% or 0.335 points to 22.180.
The top performers on the MDAX were Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which rose 2.06% to 51.420, Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which was up 1.36% to settle at 34.180 and Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which gained 1.33% to close at 13.730.
The worst performers were Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was down 3.12% to 90.100 in late trade, Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which lost 2.49% to settle at 67.290 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) which was down 2.27% to 129.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 3.45% to 13.660, GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which was up 2.64% to settle at 19.860 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 1.87% to close at 11.195.
The worst performers were S&T AG (F:SANT1) which was down 2.69% to 12.744 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENG) which lost 1.76% to settle at 25.620 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 1.72% to 100.000 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 442 to 319 and 28 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 14.34% to 13.23 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.10% or 1.17 to $1228.07 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.82% or 0.38 to hit $45.84 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.04% or 0.51 to trade at $48.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.0928, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8446.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 98.98.
