Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 11.05% or 2.610 points to trade at 26.230 at the close. Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) added 1.09% or 1.64 points to end at 151.81 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 1.00% or 0.270 points to 27.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which lost 2.46% or 1.930 points to trade at 76.460 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 2.34% or 9.80 points to end at 409.25 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) shed 2.12% or 1.050 points to 48.480.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 149 to 121 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.50% or 19.11 to $1256.79 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.72% or 0.32 to hit $44.41 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.12 to trade at $46.88 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.65% to 18.0350, while EUR/MXN rose 0.01% to 20.1033.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 97.47.
