Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Software, Retail and Technology sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Construction, Telecoms and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.13% to hit a new 52-week low, while the MDAX index gained 0.35%, and the TecDAX index added 1.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 5.20% or 8.300 points to trade at 167.850 at the close. Linde AG 1 (DE:LIN1) added 2.53% or 5.0000 points to end at 202.4000 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 2.30% or 3.15 points to 140.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG), which lost 2.21% or 1.500 points to trade at 66.280 in late trade. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 1.58% or 1.22 points to end at 76.10 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) shed 1.51% or 0.59 points to 38.39.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 5.63% to 16.500, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 4.12% to settle at 96.080 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 3.89% to close at 125.400.
The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which was down 4.43% to 61.500 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) which lost 2.46% to settle at 93.400 and Norma Group AG NA O.N. (DE:NOEJ) which was down 2.36% to 47.100 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Tele Columbus AG (DE:TC1n) which rose 12.67% to 3.25, Aumann AG (DE:AAGG) which was up 9.02% to settle at 48.3500 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which gained 6.78% to close at 19.220.
The worst performers were Baywa AG Vink. NA O.N. (DE:BYWGnx) which was down 3.80% to 26.550 in late trade, Krones AG O.N. (DE:KRNG) which lost 2.87% to settle at 84.500 and RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was down 2.82% to 15.480 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 386 to 326 and 65 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 11.05% to 20.80 a new 6-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 6.30 to $1221.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $70.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.57 to trade at $79.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1561, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.8788.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 94.92.
