Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Food & Beverages and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 2.46% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index lost 2.10%, and the TecDAX index lost 2.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG), which fell 0.26% or 0.240 points to trade at 93.180 at the close. E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) fell 0.95% or 0.086 points to end at 9.010 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was down 0.98% or 0.190 points to 19.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which lost 5.41% or 1.250 points to trade at 21.860 in late trade. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) declined 5.04% or 1.145 points to end at 21.585 and Linde AG 1 (DE:LIN1) shed 3.85% or 7.9000 points to 197.4000.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which rose 1.13% to 44.90, Grand City Properties SA (DE:GYC) which was up 0.53% to settle at 22.70 and CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which unchanged 0.00% to close at 42.660.
The worst performers were Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which was down 11.80% to 41.05 in late trade, Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which lost 6.73% to settle at 45.040 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 6.00% to 62.04 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Isra Vision O.N. (DE:ISRG) which rose 2.06% to 54.50, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 0.66% to settle at 122.800 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which gained 0.20% to close at 3.493.
The worst performers were Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which was down 6.67% to 11.900 in late trade, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which lost 4.81% to settle at 140.125 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 4.70% to 36.100 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 618 to 109 and 49 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 23.57% to 19.55 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.21% or 2.70 to $1268.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.45% or 0.31 to hit $68.27 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.57% or 1.18 to trade at $74.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.1697, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8813.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.00.
