Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Software, Retail and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.48%, while the MDAX index lost 0.33%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 2.90% or 0.308 points to trade at 10.936 at the close. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) added 1.05% or 0.230 points to end at 22.170 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) was up 0.98% or 0.088 points to 9.091 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SAP SE (DE:SAPG), which lost 2.85% or 2.940 points to trade at 100.200 in late trade. Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) declined 1.93% or 0.450 points to end at 22.920 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) shed 1.89% or 0.185 points to 9.609.
The top performers on the MDAX were GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which rose 4.53% to 33.200, Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was up 2.33% to settle at 58.00 and Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which gained 1.69% to close at 37.800.
The worst performers were Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which was down 3.54% to 43.550 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which lost 3.45% to settle at 49.24 and Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which was down 3.41% to 44.700 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which rose 1.53% to 12.310, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 1.06% to settle at 17.720 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 0.37% to close at 9.682.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 5.58% to 46.740 in late trade, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which lost 3.71% to settle at 40.450 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 3.69% to 114.700 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 406 to 297 and 72 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 7.39% to 15.05.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.11% or 1.40 to $1221.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.99% or 1.37 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.75 to trade at $75.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.1714, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8918.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 94.09.
