Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Transportation & Logistics sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.26%, while the MDAX index fell 0.46%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Linde AG 1 (DE:LIN1), which rose 3.60% or 7.6000 points to trade at 218.9000 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 1.48% or 0.260 points to end at 17.855 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 1.37% or 1.80 points to 133.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG), which lost 1.91% or 0.370 points to trade at 18.970 in late trade. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 1.35% or 1.05 points to end at 76.54 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) shed 1.14% or 1.64 points to 142.34.
The top performers on the MDAX were Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which rose 4.19% to 33.80, Norma Group AG NA O.N. (DE:NOEJ) which was up 3.41% to settle at 45.480 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which gained 2.67% to close at 92.980.
The worst performers were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which was down 6.08% to 42.510 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which lost 3.93% to settle at 117.400 and Rocket Internet (DE:RKET) which was down 2.88% to 25.60 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Krones AG O.N. (DE:KRNG) which rose 4.05% to 83.400, Vossloh AG (DE:VOSG) which was up 2.76% to settle at 41.000 and Deutz AG (DE:DEZG) which gained 2.74% to close at 6.185.
The worst performers were Sixt AG ST O.N. (DE:SIXG) which was down 5.28% to 96.900 in late trade, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which lost 3.35% to settle at 14.700 and Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which was down 3.09% to 10.340 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 422 to 275 and 80 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.54% to 19.00.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1224.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.26% or 0.18 to hit $68.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.26 to trade at $79.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1461, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8842.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 95.82.
