Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Transportation & Logistics sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.02%, while the MDAX index declined 0.23%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 2.44% or 0.350 points to trade at 14.700 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) added 2.24% or 0.255 points to end at 11.640 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 1.21% or 2.20 points to 183.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which lost 1.93% or 0.425 points to trade at 21.600 in late trade. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) declined 1.85% or 1.580 points to end at 83.640 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) shed 1.74% or 0.430 points to 24.245.
The top performers on the MDAX were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which rose 3.12% to 44.26, Metro AG (DE:MEOG) which was up 1.57% to settle at 10.380 and Suedzucker AG (DE:SZUG) which gained 1.32% to close at 18.490.
The worst performers were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which was down 2.21% to 39.380 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which lost 2.18% to settle at 116.65 and Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was down 2.06% to 111.700 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which rose 3.65% to 137.75, Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which was up 1.71% to settle at 5.950 and Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which gained 1.38% to close at 33.40.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 3.49% to 21.600 in late trade, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which lost 2.54% to settle at 10.920 and S&T AG (F:SANT1) which was down 1.97% to 18.879 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 417 to 344 and 29 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.67% to 11.69.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.09% or 1.17 to $1275.63 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.92% or 0.96 to hit $50.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.37% or 1.32 to trade at $57.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1705, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8915.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 93.75.
