Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Transportation & Logistics and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.17%, while the MDAX index added 0.56%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which rose 7.36% or 1.307 points to trade at 19.067 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 3.61% or 0.640 points to end at 18.350 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 2.98% or 0.258 points to 8.909 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which lost 1.86% or 3.075 points to trade at 162.325 in late trade. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 1.63% or 3.40 points to end at 204.60 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) shed 1.07% or 1.010 points to 93.650.
The top performers on the MDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which rose 16.38% to 95.2000, Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was up 9.97% to settle at 86.94 and Fielmann AG (DE:FIEG) which gained 4.28% to close at 57.200.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 3.27% to 112.300 in late trade, RTL Group SA (DE:RRTL) which lost 3.26% to settle at 54.850 and Axel Springer SE (DE:SPRGn) which was down 2.60% to 57.175 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 5.97% to 24.6900, Steinhoff International Holdings NV (DE:SNHG) which was up 4.95% to settle at 0.12 and Stabilus (DE:STAB) which gained 4.64% to close at 62.00.
The worst performers were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was down 3.14% to 14.800 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which lost 2.91% to settle at 20.000 and Corestate Capital Holding SA (DE:CCAG) which was down 2.49% to 37.1500 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 419 to 253 and 27 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.37% to 20.59.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.72% or 20.90 to $1233.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.65% or 1.73 to hit $63.58 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.15% or 2.38 to trade at $73.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.75% to 1.1397, while EUR/GBP fell 1.00% to 0.8789.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 96.19.
