Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.14%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 3.93% or 3.40 points to trade at 90.00 at the close. STMicroelectronics (PA:STM) added 2.72% or 0.555 points to end at 20.980 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was up 2.11% or 8.35 points to 404.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Societe Generale (PA:SOGN), which lost 4.09% or 1.95 points to trade at 45.70 in late trade. AXA SA (PA:AXAF) declined 2.77% or 0.72 points to end at 25.48 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) shed 1.40% or 0.210 points to 14.800.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Renault SA (PA:RENA) which rose 3.93% to 90.00, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was up 3.27% to settle at 5.059 and Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which gained 3.18% to close at 36.980.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was down 7.47% to 12.885 in late trade, Societe Generale (PA:SOGN) which lost 4.09% to settle at 45.70 and ALD International SA (PA:ALDA) which was down 3.68% to 11.93 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 330 to 264 and 92 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.83% to 11.01.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.71% or 9.10 to $1269.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.41% or 0.77 to hit $55.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.73% or 1.05 to trade at $61.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1608, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8884.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 94.87.
