Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 1.33% to hit a new 52-week low, while the SZSE Component index declined 1.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Zhe Jiang Dong Ri Ltd Co (SS:600113), which rose 10.06% or 0.810 points to trade at 8.860 at the close. Nanjing Panda Electronics Co Ltd (SS:600775) added 6.31% or 0.37 points to end at 6.23 and PNC Process Systems Co Ltd (SS:603690) was up 6.06% or 1.28 points to 22.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MeiDu Energy Corp (SS:600175), which lost 10.10% or 0.420 points to trade at 3.740 in late trade. Shangying Global Co Ltd (SS:600146) declined 10.00% or 1.80 points to end at 16.20 and Hainan HNA Infrastructure Investment Group Co Ltd (SS:600515) shed 9.96% or 0.730 points to 6.600.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Harbin Gloria Pharmaceuticals (SZ:002437) which rose 9.29% to 4.59, HC Semitek Corp (SZ:300323) which was up 4.03% to settle at 12.65 and Giant Network Group Co Ltd (SZ:002558) which gained 3.38% to close at 19.27.
The worst performers were Jiangsu Aucksun Co Ltd (SZ:002245) which was down 10.02% to 5.12 in late trade, Shanghai Ganglian E Commerce (SZ:300226) which lost 10.00% to settle at 45.26 and Hangzhou Tigermed Consulting (SZ:300347) which was down 10.00% to 51.30 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1231 to 170 and 37 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 6.69% to 24.42.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.19% or 2.30 to $1181.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $65.49 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $71.47 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.07% to 6.8874, while EUR/CNY rose 0.15% to 7.8417.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 96.40.
