Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 1.14%, while the SZSE Component index declined 1.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were DELIXI XINJIANG Transportation Co Ltd (SS:603032), which rose 10.00% or 1.75 points to trade at 19.25 at the close. Zhonglu Co Ltd A (SS:600818) added 9.97% or 1.120 points to end at 12.350 and GuangZhou Baiyun Electric Equipment Co Ltd (SS:603861) was up 9.96% or 0.950 points to 10.490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Xinjiang Tianye Co Ltd (SS:600075), which lost 9.98% or 0.65 points to trade at 5.86 in late trade. Linewell Software Co Ltd (SS:603636) declined 8.90% or 0.880 points to end at 9.010 and Qingdao Copton Technology Co Ltd (SS:603798) shed 8.35% or 1.030 points to 11.300.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Hisense Kelon Electrical Holdings Co Ltd (SZ:000921) which rose 10.03% to 8.67, Oceanwide Holdings Co Ltd (SZ:000046) which was up 6.03% to settle at 5.80 and Jilin Liyuan Precision Manufacturing Co Ltd (SZ:002501) which gained 4.51% to close at 3.94.
The worst performers were Palm Landscape Architecture Co Ltd (SZ:002431) which was down 9.99% to 6.04 in late trade, Sichuan Danfu Compressor Co Ltd (SZ:002366) which lost 9.98% to settle at 11.01 and Fujian Guanfu Modern Household Wares Co Ltd (SZ:002102) which was down 9.95% to 3.62 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1183 to 217 and 44 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 1.18% to 20.97.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1209.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.39% or 0.27 to hit $69.78 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.31% or 0.24 to trade at $77.70 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.18% to 6.8333, while EUR/CNY rose 0.18% to 8.0003.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 94.47.
